Tockington children honour the armed forces

Year 6 children from Tockington Manor School attend the Service of Remembrance at the South West Woodland War Memorial

Year 6 pupils from Tockington Manor School were invited to attend the Service of Remembrance at the South West Woodland War Memorial on Wednesday 14th June.  Archie Symonds laid a wreath to the sound of a lone bugler playing the Last Post, in honour of service men and women who have given their lives in the service of their country, it was a very moving experience.

We also had the pleasure of meeting Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the County and City of Bristol, Peaches Golding, who commended the children on the fine example they had set for the school.

This year is the school's 70th birthday, it was founded in 1947 as a boarding school to serve military families.
