As a result, Ms Nash will go through to the regional awards (judged by a panel of judges representing Surrey, Sussex, Middlesex and Kent) and the winner of that will go through to the national awards.
Ms Nash won the award in recognition of the work she does organising and officiating junior schools’ tournaments. Explaining the reasons behind their decision, Julie Goldin from Tennis Sussex said, “One of the main reasons Jane won the award was because of her inclusive approach; she welcomes every child regardless of their ability and delivers her tournaments with such infectious positivity that every child leaves with a smile on their face regardless of whether they win or lose.”
For the second year running, Bede’s was also proud to sponsor the Fair Play Award at the Sussex County Championships, which was once again held at the Southdown Club in Lewes. The award recognised the player in every junior category who demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship and the awards were presented at the ceremony at the Amex by Bede’s high performance coach, Rhys Hanger.
