Children from Hazlegrove Nursery enjoyed their termly visit to Highfield House Care Home recently. The children brought smiles to the faces of the elderly residents as they entertained them with songs and games.

Miss Ellis, Head of Hazlegrove Nursery said, 'It is such an worthwhile thing for the children to do and it is wonderful to see young and old people enjoying the company of each other. It works on so many different levesl; for the children chatting and explaining games and songs is a wonderful lesson in sharing and communication, whilst for the residents, it is lovely to see the very positive impact that the children have on their day. A child's enthusiasm is infectious and they can help to reach and connect with the Highfield House residents in a very unique and uplifting way'.

The visit to Highfield House is part of a rolling programme of outreach events which the school provides and includes the residents visiting the school for concerts and tea parties at various points throughout the year.
