11 year old Broomwood Hall pupil, Jemima Faskerty, felt so strongly about recycling plastic, that she wrote to her local MP.

11 year old Broomwood Hall pupil, Jemima Faskerty, was so impressed by a plastic recycling scheme available in German supermarkets that she decided to try and enlist the support of her local MP, Dr Rosena Allin-Khan to see if something similar could be introduced here. Dr Khan agreed that the initiative sounded impressive and passed on Jemima's suggestions to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Michael Gove.

Jemima's initiative earned her a Headmistress's Award. Carole Jenkinson, Headmistress commented, 'I was very impressed with her initiative and the ideas she outlined in her letter - well done Jemima'.
