Amelia's Amazing Action for Autism Awareness

Beechwood Park | 9 Apr 2018
Many congratulations to Amelia in Year 5 who had the courage to lead an Assembly at the end of last term as part of World Autism Awareness Week.
Image Description

Amelia spoke articulately about her own cousin who has an Autistic Spectrum Disorder and gave an informed and clear presentation, which heightened awareness and understanding of autism.

Amelia was then joined by a group of friends (pictured in the photo) in running a delicious and colourful cake sale at break time which raised a staggering £133.50 for The National Autistic Society in the space of just 20 minutes! To top off her fundraising initiative, Amelia organised a word search competition for Middle Department pupils and was delighted to present the winners with some chocolate goodies!

We hope that Amelia has inspired other pupils to lead an Assembly themselves in the future on topics which are important to them.
