On Thursday 12th September Winnie the Pooh visited Reigate St Mary's Preparatory School to cut the ribbon and open its brand new Early Years playground that has been transformed over the summer holidays following a significant investment to refurbish and expand the garden and play space.
Each area of the garden had a Winnie the Pooh theme for the grand opening party and the RSM Green Shoots and Kindergarten children had great fun exploring the different areas. After playing Pooh sticks, pinning the tail on Eeyore, having a bounce on the Tigger Hoppers and reading a story in Kanga and Roo’s Reading Corner, the children then enjoyed some honey themed refreshments!
Sam Selkirk, Head of Lower School at Reigate St. Mary's said of the event 'It was lovely to see the children so excited that Winnie the Pooh was there to open their new play space. The staff worked incredibly hard to make every area of the garden a success and the children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the activities. The investment into our new Early Years play area has hugely increased the space available for our Green Shoots and Kindergarten children to play in throughout the day. With a brand new trim trail, climbing frame and zoned areas for the Early Years children to explore, we are delighted with the results.'
