Bedford Prep’s Y3 boys were transported to Ancient Egypt during a fun, themed day on Friday 19 October.

The boys took a step back in time to discover what happens after the death of a mighty pharaoh, including tomb building, the mummification process, burial ceremonies and, finally, the crowning of the new Pharaoh.

The boys also enjoyed a lesson in basic maths the Egyptian way, a game of Hounds and Jackals: an Egyptian board game, and an Egyptian themed quiz, as well as looking at fascinating artefacts to find out even more about the Egyptian way of life.

About Bedford Preparatory School

Fundamental to the Bedford ethos is the belief that children learn more when they are happy and secure and to this end we ensure that every boy, day boy or boarder, receives a high level of pastoral care and individual support. In an atmosphere where pupils and staff mutually enjoy each other’s company and parents are closely involved with every aspect of their sons’ education, the boys visibly grow in confidence and ability as they progress through the school, well prepared and eager to face new challenges.
